Happy #NationalPamperingDay!

I have to admit, getting myself pampered at the spa or salon is one of my guilty pleasures. But it's not something I get to do very often because services can get pretty expensive! Enter Nailaholics and their #NationalPamperingDay, and the much needed me-time need not be expensive anymore. In fact, they bring you some of their most sought after services absolutely FREE.

Tales of a 30 Year Old Freshman

I haven't written a blog in almost a year! Been swamped with work and school. Yep, school! This blog was never meant to be ultra personal, and I usually don't say much about my private life. I've learned that I don't really owe anyone an explanation and sometimes it's better to just silently do your thing, but for some reason I feel like sharing. So let me share with you something I wrote for one of my Multimedia classes two trimesters ago.

Disclaimer: It doesn't get more personal than this. <3

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

We used to never get along. But now that I’m older, I’ve realized that some of the best and most valuable lessons I’ve learned in life, I learned from my Papa. Things like the value of honesty and integrity and discipline, and that “if you’re going to do something, do it right, or don’t do it at all.”

MY ACNE STORY

Okay, let me just put this out there from the get-go. You may need a strong stomach to get through this entire post, as I will be posting really ugly and gross before pictures of myself. If you're struggling with adult acne, and want to know that you are not alone, by all means, please read on. If you're easily grossed out and don't care about acne or skin-care anyways, you might want to skip this post altogether. ;)

PETER PAN: A MUSICAL ADVENTURE

I've seen a number of musicals in my lifetime, both locally and on Broadway, but it's been years since the last time I got to sit in a theater audience! I was really excited when I found out they were doing Peter Pan here in Cebu.
"Event Aspects In collaboration with Events International, a production company that produce international concerts and theatrical shows, we are proud to bring the first Philippine staging of “PETER PAN: A Musical Adventure” on June 11-12, 2016, to be directed by the highly-experienced and distinguished creative entertainment director-producer, Mr. Paul Hammond. The performers are professional actors and actresses from the widely-known mainstream theaters in the West End of London who had successful shows in India, Thailand, Vietnam and some parts of Europe."

A few weeks ago, the BFF and I finally got to check out VIKINGS Luxury Buffet at SM City Cebu!

HEALTHCARE FOR THE BUSY MOMMY: MY POCKET DOCTOR!

I'm not usually a klutz, but I do have my clumsy moments here and there. (Like last Saturday when I slipped on the sidewalk while walking to a pizza place. What? I was hungry! LOL) I also happen to be one of those people who can never find the time to see a doctor when I need to. The traffic, long queues, hours and hours of waiting at the clinic lobby when I could be doing something more productive, are just some of my major pet peeves. Hate to say it, but I too, am one of those middle class Pinoys who leave my personal healthcare at the bottom of my prio list. Sometimes, getting the care I need is just too costly--- both financially, and time-wise. Hasol ba.

#FRUGALFINDS | PLUS SIZE SHOPPING AT THE ATTIC!

Ok, let's face it. Plus sized shopping is not easy. There aren't that many retailers out there offering trendy and affordable clothes for the curvy Pinay. Local brands do nothing. Sizes tagged as L or XL still fit all wrong. Either the bust part is too tight, but the sleeves run loose, or the bodice fits right, but oops, the top's too short. Sure there are a few local boutiques that cater to plus sized ladies, but the styles they carry usually look old and matronly. Since I put on a truck load of extra Mikki to love, I've realized that the only way I can get myself a nice wardrobe is by shopping for imported brands where sizes run a bit bigger, and styles are actually still on trend. That, unfortunately, even when on sale, doesn't come without a hefty price tag.

ARTASTIC SUMMER PET APPRECIATION WORKSHOP!

Some people regard art education as a luxury, but truth be told, simple creative activities are actually fundamental in child development. Not only does art education promote creativity and imagination, but it also enhances critical thinking, learning, and even a child's self esteem!

SPOTLIGHT | RAW BY ROQUE

It's been over 6 months since my sister, Mikka turned her bedroom into a laboratory-slash-factory-slash-office for her business Raw byRoque. It's a hot mess up there, sticky floors and all, but it always smells really good! I was curious to find out more about the vegan artisanal body products she's always busy brewing up in her little cave. If you're curious too, read on to find out more about Raw byRoque

THE MIKIRO STORY

Growing up, I have always loved accessories. As a child, I remember making friendship bracelets out of embroidery thread and beads and selling them to my classmates or giving them away as presents. In college, I would join bazaars selling my handmade jewelry made of fresh water pearls, semi precious stones and plated metals.

DIY | GILDED!

I had some old items I wanted to spruce up and Mikki-fy, and it's amazing what magic you can do with cans of spray paint and some extra time on your hands!

STARTING OVER...YET AGAIN.

Once upon a time, on a different URL, I wrote about beauty, food, shopping, life, and well, a little bit of everything. My then 23 year old self blogged to express, and maybe even to impress, but mostly to paint myself a picture of what I wanted my life to be. But as we all know, things aren't always as they seem, and more often than not, what we see on social media is only a snippet of what's really going down in real life.
